Messenger: fake Meta Policy Support warning about Page suspension

A Messenger or chat message that claims to be Meta Policy Support and says your Page will be suspended unless you click a link or share a login code is a phishing attempt. Meta does not ask for passwords or codes in cold Messenger chats to save a Page or an ad account. Do not tap the link, and recover access if you already shared anything.

Red flags

What to do now

  1. Do not tap the link or send a code.
  2. Report the message and the sender inside the app.
  3. Open Account Quality and Business Support Home yourself from a bookmark you trust.
  4. If you shared a password or code, change it, end sessions and check People access on the portfolio.

If ads or the Page already changed

Remove unknown admins, check payment methods and read phishing messages targeting advertisers. Keep screenshots for your records.

YOUR QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Would real Meta support message me on Messenger first?

Use Business Support Home and the help options on your own notices. Do not trust cold chats that demand a login.

Can a phishing takeover disable the ad account?

Yes. Treat lost access and unknown spend as a security incident first.

Want help with your ad account?
