No backup admin when the ad account and profile go down together

If you were the only admin and both your Facebook profile and the ad account are locked, gather IDs from email and invoices, appeal the profile, and use Meta's business support routes for the portfolio. Going forward, every business portfolio that spends on ads needs a second admin with their own login.

While you are locked out

  1. Search email for the business portfolio ID and ad account IDs.
  2. Appeal the profile through the notice Meta shows.
  3. From any still-working teammate login, check whether they have any role on the portfolio.
  4. Do not pay a stranger who says they can unlock both assets.

When you regain access

  1. Add a second admin who is a real person on your team.
  2. Turn on two-factor with an app on every admin.
  3. Save recovery codes offline.
  4. Write a short handover note: see written handover for ad accounts.

Why one admin fails

A single banned profile can cut off ads, billing and Pages at once. A backup admin keeps the business reachable while you recover.

YOUR QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Can I add a backup admin while the profile is banned?

Not from that profile. Another person who already has access can add people if their role allows it.

Should I use a shared login as backup?

No. Each admin needs their own Facebook login.

Who decides recovery?

Meta decides.
