Pixel and dataset ownership after changing agencies

If an agency created your pixel or dataset in its own business portfolio, it stays theirs after you leave. Ask the agency to share it with your portfolio as a partner, or create a new dataset in your own portfolio and update the site code. Plan the switch before the contract ends.

Steps

  1. Check which portfolio owns the dataset in Events Manager.
  2. Ask the agency to share it with your portfolio.
  3. If they will not, create a new dataset in your portfolio.
  4. Update the website and server events.
  5. Remove the old agency access.

Data

A new dataset starts with no history. Keep the old one shared while the new one builds up.

Next time

Create the dataset in your own portfolio and share it with the agency.
